FAQs

  • If your backup camera sits anywhere above your license plate, it'll work. Check the fit list, or email fit@lenslizard.com with your make and model.

Trucks and some SUVs with recessed plates use our adapter plate. Many popular models (F-150, Model Y Juniper) need nothing extra.

  • Yes. It has plenty of power to spray upward and reach cameras mounted high on a tailgate. The truck adapter plate is done and tested on Silverados, Sierras, F-150s and more.

  • No. It runs on winter-grade washer fluid to keep the line clear, and the jet will knock snow and light ice off the lens. The cold-rated lithium batteries last 2+ years, even through Vermont winters.

  • A tank lasts 3+ months depending on how much you use it, so most people fill it once a winter. It refills without coming off the car. The four lithium AAs last 2+ years. Nothing to charge, and it never touches your car battery.

  • Snow's the worst of it, but road spray, mud, pollen and salt smear a lens year-round. Use plain washer fluid in summer.

  • No. Lens Lizard mounts using your existing license plate screw holes. All fluid and power are fully self-contained.

  • Yes. Lens Lizard is built to handle automatic car washes without any issues.

  • Maybe. It depends on the angle from your plate to the camera. We'll publish supported models as we test them.

  • December–January to the US and Canada. Kickstarter backers ship first, then website pre-orders in the order received.

  • 60-day hassle-free returns. Try it through a real winter.
